    Established in 2007, LearnPlay Foundation are the creative digital media agency and an apprenticeship & short-course provider. We are passionate about delivering & engaging with those in underserved communities to help upskill and provide a range of future opportunities as well as working with companies to provide compelling creative and digital solutions such as video production, design, web services and game development.

    The team are seeking a passionate, motivated and creative individual for the following position – Film Department Team Member.

    Due to the pandemic, all business development is currently being delivered remotely using a range of digital interventions, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Discord. Delivery will move to face to face as and when it is safe and appropriate to do so. As such, successful candidates must be able to travel to our Wolverhampton based office.

    Description

    As a Video Production Apprentice, your role and training will include the capturing, editing, post-production and delivery of video for the company as well as our clients. This will involve attending meetings with clients, helping the business scope out the clients needs and vision, undertaking storyboards and shortlists, planning for shoot days and undertaking pre-shoot preparations as well as all aspects on location and postproduction activities including: colour correction, sound, soundtrack to name but a few.

    As part of the apprenticeship, it is our role to guide you in the above, develop your skill sets and help you become proficient in all aspects of video production.

    You will be required to work as part of the team as well as independently, work with other departments within the company alongside clients. Occasionally, you may be required to work outside of normal business hours on client projects late afternoon/evening shoots and/or locations around the UK.

    We produce video for social media, corporate videos, information-based videos, instructional video, product video, campaign and single issue informative video as well as mini features.

    Role

    In addition to the above, your role will include the following:

    • Building a strong understanding of the editorial direction of all brands, including the voice, tone, and creative development of content.
    • Working closely with brand, publishing and creative teams to learn how to bring ideas to life.
    • Working closely with the wider Production team to make sure you are working to your best ability, to deadline and meeting quotas.
    • Editing content for all social platforms creatively, to a high standard and with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Managing media and archiving of your footage, edits and support this process across the department.
    • Learning to problem solve issues that arise during production.
    • Being an ambassador for all LPF channels, internally and externally
    • Adopting and promote the LPF values and support a culture of inclusion

    The team are seeking a passionate, motivated and caring individual for the following position – Graphic Design Team Member

    Due to the pandemic, all business development is currently being delivered remotely using a range of digital interventions, including Microsoft Teams and Discord. Delivery will move to face to face as and when it is safe and appropriate to do so. As such, successful candidates must be able to travel to our Wolverhampton based office.

    Our organisation has a range of clients for whom we provide spectrum design solutions. This includes large-scale solutions for exhibitions, marketing collateral which includes print brochures, presentation folders, business stationery, leaflets and booklets right through to illustrations for books, creatives for above the line advertising and social media channels. We also provide brand inception, consulting and positioning for clients.

    Role/Responsibilities:

    • Attending client meetings to: understand client requirements, discuss design approach & scope out ideas and update on project progress.
    • Work towards becoming proficient in industry standard design software such as Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop et cetera.
    • Design creatives for the company social media channels.
    • Design still & animated creatives and contribute design to game development, web development and video production department.
    • Liaise and oversee design process for client merchandise.
    • Understand design for print and all print requirements including spacing, layout, margins et cetera.
    • Produce pitch decks, marketing decks and digital design for marketing.

    LearnPlay website development for a range of public, private and community-based organisations across the UK. Our community and charity based clients sector has grown.

    Due to the pandemic, all business development is currently being delivered remotely using a range of digital interventions, including Microsoft Teams and Discord. Delivery will move to face to face as and when it is safe and appropriate to do so.

    Role/Responsibilities:

    • Assisting the web development team with all aspects of website and application design.
    • Assisting with the testing and maintenance of backend and front-end applications.
    • Brainstorming new tech applications such as digital storage and mobile technology.
    • Collaborating with developers to implement new web features.
    • Keeping up-to-date with the latest technology and programming trends.
    • Converting video, audio, written, and graphic components into compatible formats for the web.
    • Using user feedback to identify and correct problems with a client’s website.
    • Attending client meeting to discuss, scope out requirements in addition to reporting back on progress.

    The individual will work within our interactive digital media environment under the supervision of a Team Leader. This is an apprenticeship position and will require the apprentice to undertake learning in order to achieve the Junior Content Producer standard at Level 3.

    Role Summary:

    There are a number of vacancies available within our Games Development Department.

    All team members are responsible for developing new, fresh and exciting materials for a range of clients. Team members are involved in every facet of the game design and development process and are required to attend client meetings.

    The roles require team members to be flexible, working within the constraints and limitations that a client may require. Occasionally, they may be required to work at irregular times and locations.

    They will be expected to work closely alongside clients throughout the process, to bring a shared vision to life, utilising the strengths of colleagues in and out of the department to achieve the highest quality product possible. Due to the nature of the job, work will often be under scrutiny from other members of the company as well as external clients.

    Experience & Skills Required:

    • Have a basic knowledge of C# or a desire to learn
    • Have a working knowledge of Unity & Blender software or a willingness to learn
    • Be keen on learning Game Development practices and/or 3D modelling
    • Ability to work in a team and contribute to game development ideas
    • Ability to work individually by following specifications
    • Design ability with photoshop or illustrator in a Game development capacity (Sprites etc)
    • Be cordial and professional

    • Have good judgement and decision-making skills

    Working 30 hours a week, Monday to Thursday between the hours of 9.30 am and 5.30 pm.
    National Minimum Wage for an Apprentice is £4.30.
