We are delighted to announce that we have been successful in the first round of Shared Prosperity Funding (SPF).
SPF is a national fund, facilitated by local authorities, in the main, and has an overarching national agenda to boost productivity, pay, jobs and living standards for people around the country. Each local authority will have their own priorities.
Our project aims to work within the communities of Wolverhampton and has three specific strands.
The first strand is to create 20 Skills Champions from 16 to 29-year-olds who will act as ambassadors within their own peer groups to encourage the take up of local training and employment opportunities. These Champions will be given training in technology as a means to upskill them in future skills as well as a means to engage with their peer group.
The second strand will focus on creating 20 Digital Champion volunteers Who will focus on working with residents over the age of 50 by offering support in day-to-day digital skills, from sending an email to accessing video platforms, create an online account or simply troubleshooting technology.
The final strand will create 20 volunteer City Champions who will work around the priority areas of the city to explore what residents love and what can be improved around their locale.
The project will aim to create 60 volunteering opportunities and will aim to work with over 100 participants.
